A Simple Plan, Approached with Intensity, Is a Very Effective Plan.

To stand out from the crowd and aim to be seen as someone with an advanced knowledge on a topic, there may be a desire to conjure up a crazy routine, workout plan, or diet in an attempt to prove you know what you’re talking about.

People sometimes fail to acknowledge that using a simple approach to tasks or projects, will make the attainment of the final goal much more achievable.

You don’t need some elaborate masterplan to achieve your goals. Hard work and consistency will beat these grand plans 9 times out of 10.

Attempting to create a grand masterplan full of obscure procedures / exercises / foods etc, just so it looks like you have this advanced knowledge on the matter, will not make the plan greater than one that is well thought out but laid out simply, easy to follow and approached with focus and intensity.

Creating too much work, or creating too challenging work, will be extremely mentally fatiguing, which, over time will make you dread your new lifestyle change.

Simplicity is king. If you read anything on this page or watch any videos I create, I will never stop preaching that.

Whatever the goal is, you’ll need to at least have an interest in the process and some reason for wanting to achieve the goal you have set for yourself.

It could be a monetary reason, it could be to improve your mental health, it could be to look and feel better about yourself (there is nothing wrong with wanting to look better, as physical attraction is an important part of choosing a partner, and society needs families that stick together and actually love each other, to continue going forward. I’m not saying looks are the sole reason for someone to be with you, but it is important to people, and we cannot ignore this).

If you dread acting on completing the new plan you have made, you will not stick to it. This is why you need to strip it back, make it basic and enjoyable, and absolutely avoid creating too much work for yourself to complete.

Very few people can do things they hate, consistently for long periods of time. They either have extremely strong willpower, or have had a traumatic event happening in their lives, that fully changes the way they are.

You are also not a robot. Don’t create a mega gym plan where you work out 3 hours a day 5 days a week. I can guarantee you will consider changing the routine before the first week is complete.

Same goes with a new diet. You saw someone on social media say you MUST be eating a certain food or else every single muscle in your body will Atrophy (loss of muscle mass), so now you have to eat it too…

Don’t fall for this. I fell for this too. It keeps you in a state of worry, and when you are uneducated on nutrition and believe everything you see on social media, you’ll fall into this trap. People make this content to make it seem like they know everything, resulting in you following them, which grows their platform.

I can safely say from my experience gained over the past 4 and a bit years, there is no such thing as a ‘magic food’ that will make you grow faster or be the only reason you grow muscle. Just eat a balanced diet, reach your protein target and you are going to grow muscle.

This is great as it means you don’t ‘Have’ to eat 10 eggs a day, cooked in cow sweat, followed by a pint of electrolyte water at exactly 5.8 Ö¯ C, to see progress.

Regarding exercise, this applies also. You don’t need to be performing crazy looking exercises or performing 100 speed reps in 10 seconds to grow.

Exhaust the basics, before you think about adding some of these obscure exercises you see on social media.

So, please take this message away from this post and remember to keep it simple and not overcomplicate your planning.

Create a plan that you can follow, without adding too much unnecessary dross. Ensure that you enjoy it or at least enjoy a good portion of it, and you will see progress.

Still challenge yourself as you need to be progressing past your current best to improve but manufacture a routine that makes it easy to go beyond this point.

Once you have a routine that you look forward to, that doesn’t have you dreading getting out of bed in the morning, the results will start flowing into your life in no time.
