Poor Lifestyle Choices Catch Up To You

Treat social media, poor diet and other vices like illegal substances. Learn to realise that overconsumption of all these things are harmful too and will absolutely keep you from your full potential.

Do you realise that if you do not confront these addictions and get your life on track, then one day you will have a situation happen in your life that scares you, making you look back on the years spent in these legal addictions, wishing you had stopped them when you had the chance.

Take binge eating for example. Everyone loves a bit of junk food here and there, but eating it every day? Not the best idea. You will slowly watch yourself fall out of shape, which may not be an issue to you, but what you don’t see is the internal changes happening in your body.

People start to live with the fact that they are overweight, because they are not physically hurting from being a slightly larger individual. As they can accept this, they believe there is no rush for change.

Do not wait for a life changing event to happen, for you to realise that your lifestyle is slowly killing you.

It happens far too often where people live their life this way, and only start to care about health or finances after they have the heart attack, emergency room visit at the hospital, lose their job, lose their house etc.

You should be going through life preparing for dark days, so when a situation arises where you are put under immense stress and challenge, then you can overcome it because you have essentially been indirectly preparing for it over the years.

I say preparing for dark days, but this doesn’t mean spend your life worrying 24/7, as this will just cause you problems in itself.

My message is to not ignore the fact that your life could catastrophically change in a heartbeat.

Keep it in the back of your mind, and live knowing that this could happen.

Keep on top of your health before your body gives up. Keep on top of your finances before the Government introduce policies that oppress you even more.

Keep your mind sharp, before all those years of doom-scrolling on social media finally take their toll, and you can no longer pay attention to simple tasks or think for yourself because your mind is so exhausted from watching 2 seconds of a video before moving onto the next 2 second video, and so on.

Social media is my worst vice. I am addicted to my phone I genuinely struggle to go 5 minutes without getting a quick fix of dopamine from it.

I have slowly come to the realisation that I’ve wasted years of time, and so much of my potential because I’m endlessly, mindlessly scrolling through social media apps.

This has caught up to me because I know I should be much further ahead in life, but I’m not because I’ve lacked, drive, discipline and focus over the past years.

Mind-numbingly scrolling these apps has stolen so much from me, and my laziness and arrogance has cost me.

If you do not put the work in now, you are going to have to accept that life will catch up to you in the future, and then you will deeply regret not taking action when you had all the time and energy, in the world.
